Position Title: Publicist

Job Description:

You will deliver a full range of communications in the team whilst managing your own projects, organising events and creating publicity stunts to create local/regional/national awareness of BBC content.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit and produce creative and engaging content for communications channels
  • To establish and maintain effective working relationships and contacts with the media
  • To constantly seek innovative ways to increase favourable media coverage
  • To establish and maintain effective working relationships with BBC production departments, independent production companies, talent, their agents and representatives, ensuring that any press and publicity activities are consistent with the overall communications strategy and priorities for a particular genre or service
  • To work closely with colleagues in pictures, marketing and audiences in order to ensure the effective integration of activities and to maximize the impact of campaigns

Requirements:

  • A collaborative team player with strong communication skills and a positive can-do attitude
  • First class administration and organisational skills
  • A good working knowledge and use of social media for promoting content and news stories
  • Proven experience of organising and managing events
