Position Title: Policy Manager

Job Description:

We are the strategic advisors for global regulations around content moderation and we have deep expertise in both local and global trends in legislation and content requests from governments, rightsholders, and users around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Manager directly managing other team members; coach, support and motivate the team to achieve high quality results.
  • Analyze policy and legal challenges facing technology platforms and make recommendations on how to address them.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for a variety of Google products to ensure legal policy analysis and recommendations consider all teams’ perspectives.
  • Resolve high-profile policy escalations from users, governments, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Attorneys, Public Policy Managers, Trust and Safety teams, and Engineering to create strategies and execute on policy-related challenges.

Requirements:

  • Experience working for or with Data Protection authorities, EU regulators, or government agencies.
  • Experience working with a broad array of cross-functional stakeholders; influencing, and facilitating.
  • Policy experience, with knowledge of the technology sector and key policy challenges affecting the internet (e.g., intellectual property, free expression, and online safety).
