Job Description

As a Lead UX Researcher, you will focus on making it as simple as possible for merchants to be discoverable on Google Search and have their products/services connected to consumers.
The Merchant Shopping team builds tools and capabilities to assist the world’s merchants and retail brands to manage their business profile on Google. Our capabilities help them make their products and services discoverable to consumers on Google.
User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work on collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products’ unique capabilities and personalities. Responsibilities:

  • Partner with other UX leads and develop a user-centered organization
  • Develop excellent relationships with cross-functional leaders and act as a strategic partner
  • Mentor UX Researchers on the team and advocate for their work
  • Drive an impactful research agenda focused on the needs of our merchant users and the business
  • Shape a product strategy grounded in user insights

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive
  • Science, Statistics, Psychology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience leading UX research in the retail space and/or with Business-to-Business (B2B) users
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional executive-level stakeholders and influencing business strategy
