Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity at a pivotal time for the BBC. You will be instrumental in helping the BBC to deliver comedy & entertainment programming to BBC audiences across all its platforms (BBC1-4 and iPlayer) securing rights and managing risks across the portfolio of programmes.

Responsibilities:

  • As a CRBA Executive, you will be responsible for managing the business risk around a wide range of different programmes across the Entertainment (unscripted) and the Comedy (scripted) genres.
  • This will involve drafting and negotiating contracts with a variety of counterparties, interrogating programme funding (including third party investment), liaising with a wide variety of independent production companies and other key stakeholders.
  • including liaising with and advising BBC Comedy & Entertainment Commissioners, assessing the risk in relation to a variety of issues as they arise, and escalating where necessary, and obtaining relevant approvals for deals & recording them in the relevant databases.

Requirements:

  • highly motivated to drive forward deals independently as well as collaboratively, including working as part of a team
  • comfortable using online tools & databases to accurately record deal progress in a timely manner
  • an understanding of the importance of relevant approvals within the deal making process and the aptitude to efficiently incorporate them within the work flow
