Position Title: Service Manager Software License

Job Description

As a Service Manager – Software License you will actively participate in the day-to-day delivery of the software license management service, acting as a key interface between the Software License Managed Service Provider and Shell service management. This includes, but is not limited to, the successful execution of repeatable and consistent software license compliance assessments, supporting remediation of compliance gaps and driving continuous process improvement. You will also maintain the framework to implement appropriate license cost recovery from the businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding a complex Service solution which includes contract advice, tooling for entitlement tracking as well as trending usage of products across multiple environments.
  • Acting as the escalation point where the Managed Service Provider may need information and or actions from other Shell businesses and/or service providers.
  • Validating the correct license consumption logic in Software Asset Management tooling
  • Assisting Service Provider with manual data gathering of software consumption unable to be performed by available tools
  • Translating technical recommendations coming from the Software License Managed Service Provider into business actionable items to maintain compliance and optimize software license costs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or a related discipline
  • Experience of IT service management and delivery in a large business environment Certifications in ITIL, Business Analysis and/or Project Management is preferred.
  • Experience in coordinating, planning and delivering with limited direction; able to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Skilled in effective problem solving with a keen attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and take responsibility for delivery to key timeframes
  • Excellent technical skill in using Microsoft Office Excel (tables, charts, pivot tables), PowerPoint and reporting tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills using different mediums
