Independents by Sodexo have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team our talented team at Wellington College, Crowthorne.

This a key role, managing the daily catering service; it will suit an experienced Chef with a passion for food, who is skilled in food delivery and customer experience. Reporting into our Executive Chef Darren Edwards, your focus will be to deliver the highest food and beverage service at Wellington College where the aspiration is to be one of the UK’s leading Independent Schools. We are therefore looking for an experienced creative and innovative chef. You will be a great communicator with the best people skills as you will manage the team providing clear direction; experience with working in a fast-moving complex environment will be key to your success and you will be adaptable whilst working under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • To support Executive Chef in all aspects of day-to-day management of the kitchen
  • Communicate to build relationships and interact appropriately with others
  • Seek to raise standards and improve quality of food and service
  • Work effectively and professionally with others to achieve the desired results
  • Robust Allergen Management

Requirements:

  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Strong level of literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to analyse problems, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions and approaches
  • Strong ability to increase individual effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Computer literate
